The osseointegrated implant is a surgical technique that allows to replace a missing tooth in all its components, root and crown. Normally, with the joint prosthesis is replaced only the visible portion of the tooth, the crown for the attachment of these prostheses is therefore necessary to lean on or adjacent teeth or gums. With the installations can be avoided rather than having to involve the adjacent teeth for the construction of a bridge if missing a tooth, or you can avoid the need for removable appliances in cases were missing several teeth, or may even abandon the "false teeth" in some situations.
The implants are small titanium cylinders, similar to the natural roots, which once inserted into the bone are incurred by him in a few months, becoming a stable supporting element for dental prostheses. Our experience with osseointegrated implants began in 1984, when in Italy the number of dentists able to use this technique was still very small, this allowed us to collect a very large series that allows us to deal with this specialty very quietly.
